The Nursery Rhyme Rap

Did you know that almost all nursery rhymes have the same rhythm.  Heres something that you can try with your child.

(clap your hands at all times keeping the same tempo throughout the entire chant)

Clap, clap it’s the nursery rhyme rap
Clap, clap it’s the nursery rhyme rap

Hey diddle diddle the cat and the fiddle
The cow jumped over the moon
The little dog laughed to see such a sight
And the dish ran away with the spoon

Clap, clap it’s the nursery rhyme rap
Clap, clap it’s the nursery rhyme rap

Little miss muffet sat on a tuffet
Eating her curds and whey
Along came a spider
Sat down beside her
And frightened miss muffet away

Clap, clap it’s the nursery.......

A Smooth Road

(Place your child on your lap)
A smooth road, a smooth road, a smooth road, a smooth road (move your child in small circles)
A curvey road , a curvey road, a curvey road, a curvey road (move your child in larger circles)
A gravel road, a gravel road, a gravel road, a gravel road (move your child in a light bumping fashion)
A bumpy road, a bumpy road, a bumpy road, a bumpy road (move legs up and down in large bumping fashion)
OH! OH!  A HOLE! (open your legs and gently let your child drop into the hole)
