that Makes You MOVE! | | | | | | |  | | | |  | | | | | | | | |  |  | | | |  | RESUME ~ How it all Began -Marnie Grey’s, popularity has exploded over the last nine years; due to three hit CD’s, consecutive sell out shows and incredibly popular Music Classes. With a strong background in both Early Childhood Education and children’s music, Marnie combined her two talents and developed and taught five unique Music and Movement Classes from 1999 -2007. Marnie’s classes were by far the most popular preschool and toddler classes in Greater Vancouver, and would regularly sell out within less than 10 seconds of on-line registration. | | | | | RECORDINGS ~ The Music -Due to many requests from parents and children, in April 2001 Marnie released her debut album ‘Music with Marnie’. The rest is history. Marnie’s popularity grew exponentially and the need to share her music internationally was on the rise. In co-writing her second CD. “Peace and Puddles” (released in July 2003) Marnie used her talent and insight to develop a high energy music and movement CD. The Peace and Puddles CD was a spring-board to Marnie’s popularity. Those who purchased it instantly fell in love with her catchy sweet songs and within no time the name “Music with Marnie” became popular Nation Wide. Since the incarnation of the Peace and Puddles CD Marnie has toured across Canada and sung at sold out shows to 1000’s of children who couldn’t wait to see Marnie in person. On May 16, 2005 Marnie released her third CD “Groovin’ through the Neighbourhood” at six SOLD OUT shows at the Vancouver International Children’s Festival. “Groovin’ through the Neighbourhood” is a funky and educational CD filled with upbeat music and movement tunes about everyday things that children LOVE. In February 2009 Marnie launched a one-of-a-kind interactive community website featuring educational downloadable Marnie TV and Marnie Tunes ~ giving her ever-growing fan base a fun and safe place to experience Marnie ~ Anytime and Anywhere! | | | | | LIVE PERFORMANCES & TOURS -Described as one of the Best Performers of her generation, Marnie and her Rock n’Roll Band, work as a team to captivate their audiences and deliver stimulating, high-energy performances that involve children mentally, physically and emotionally. The lively and interactive performances promote audience participation through music and movement, imitation and sing-a-longs. Marnie’s interaction with her “characters” (i.e. Mumbu the Monkey) creates a dynamic and theatrical environment that’s guaranteed to enthrall the crowd and keep them wanting more. Marnie and her Band have performed to raving SOLD OUT crowds at many festivals and theatres across Canada and continue to develop a huge fan base and mosh pit wherever they go! Click here For More Info! | | | | | TELEVISION APPEARANCES & HER BIG SCREEN DEBUT -In 2004 Marnie wrote, co-produced and starred in a film called “Music with Marnie-Mumbu on the Moon”, which showed daily for two years at the Vancouver H.R. MacMillan Space Centre. This show was rated as one of the most popular Preschool Shows EVER viewed at the Vancouver Space Centre. Marnie has had a number of appearances on Knowledge Network, including 2 television commercials that ran for 12 months, she has also appeared on Global National, CBC TV and Shaw TV to name a few. Marnie also had a guest appearance on WTN’s Smart Cookies, and she and her band were the only children’s performers ever to appear on CBC’s ZeD TV. Marnie donates a portion of the proceeds of CD Sales to many causes that are important to her, one such example is Plan Canada. As a survivor of the tsunami that struck the Indian Ocean Dec 2004, Marnie became an Ambassador for Plan Canada, recorded “Groovin’ through the Neighbourhood” and donates a portion of the proceeds from her sales to Plan Thailand an affiliate of Plan Canada.
